Elizabeth Taylor – Hair Idol

March 24, 2011 By Hair Romance 5 Comments

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Elizabeth Taylor. She was a true Hollywood great. This Avedon portrait is stunning.

By the time she won her first Oscar at age 28, Taylor had been married five times. “What do you expect me to do? Sleep alone?” she said.

A true icon.

My Dad was one month older than Elizabeth Taylor and I grew up watching all her movies.

Her glamour will live on and so will her contribution to the turban.

Do you have a favourite Elizabeth Taylor movie? I love National Velvet, Little Women, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Suddenly, Last Summer. I feel a movie marathon coming on soon.

RIP Dame Elizabeth.

    Gorgeous portrait.
She was so glamourous and sophiscated, but seemed to have a great sense of humour.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and A Place in the Sun are the only ones that I would add to your fab list. I was really sad yesterday. It's such a bummer knowing that she's gone.

@ AKB Definitely adding those to the list Amanda

@theoldboathouse love your question and I will look into it. I don't own any turbans…yet…but will post very soon
