Rachel McAdams, at the premiere for the latest Sherlock Holmes movie, looking fresh faced and gorgeous as usual. But then I noticed her fabulous updo and thought it looked kind of familiar…
It’s the classic Twist & Pin – my all time favourite easy hairstyle. You can watch the how to video here, it was my first ever YouTube tutorial.
What do you think of Rachel’s look? Have you tried the Twist & Pin?

Nice! Twist and Pin on the Red Carpet!
I’ve tried the twist and pin, but never successfully. I think it’s because of my bobby pins. What pins do you recommend?
Hi Joy
I use Goriki pins that I buy from a beauty wholesaler. Professional strength pins make such a difference. Cheaper pins just fall out of my hair. Try your local salon supplies shop or you can probably find Goriki pins online (amazon I think)

lovely hairdo!
I love this and can’t wait to try it… though I’m not sure about her gray streaks. Are those on purpose?
I know what you mean – I’m not sure if that’s grey or just product that looks funny under flash. Or maybe too much toner?
The twist and pin (from your tutorial) was a hit at my aunt’s 60th dinner cruise, but fell out half way through. I think I need the bobby pins you recommended. I’ll have to track those down. Cheers from Seattle.
Yay! Thanks for trying it Rosalie! Stronger pins will make a difference. Even ask your salon if they can get you some.
Does her hair look…oddly gray here? Maybe it’s just my computer…
I’m not sure, it definitely looks like an ashy coloured highlight.
