UPDATE: The 30 Buns in 30 Days eBook is here and it’s a bestseller!
Hair Romance’s 30 Buns in 30 Days Hairstyle challenge is 1/3 complete and this week I’m combining my favourite braids and buns.
30 Buns in 30 Days – Day 10 – Scarf Bun
The scarf you choose should be a little longer than your hair so you can see some of the scarf at the end of your braid. The colour and pattern of your scarf will give this style a completely different look every time.
Add some colour to your bun and I’d love to see a photo if you try this in your hair! Tag me on Instagram or Twitter @hairromance or #30Buns30Days.

Hi! I’m a freelance writer and I’m writing an article for a client about braids and I would love to include this braid since it’s one of my personal favorite hairstyles since I discovered it years ago! Can I include your photo, give you credit, and link to your blog? Thanks in advance!
Hair Romance says
Hi Kat, can you please email me at thehair @hairromance.com with more details about your article? Thanks, Christina

So much easier than what I did. I clipped a ribbon (the scarf was too overpowering for my already uber thick hair) above where I wanted the braid to start, just to hold it in place. Then I braided the ribbon in with the middle section. I’ll post a pic on instagram for you!

I need the book to see how you braid the scarf into the hair! This is very pretty!
Hair Romance says
Thanks Kelly! My tip is to tie it to your ponytail and then it becomes the third section of your braid. There will be full picture tutorials and more styles and tips in my book too 🙂

I am all thumbs when it comes to hair styling. I can’t blow dry my crazy frizzy pouffy curly mid back when dry hair much less flat iron it. I can’t do anything more than a simaple three strand braid or pull it back into a bun. This I tried and succeeded! Yeah. I love looking at what you can do with your curly hair and I wish I had your skill set or genes you are a braid Guru!
Hair Romance says
Thanks Di! If you can do a three strand braid you’re already ahead! Thanks so much for trying this style and so glad you love it too x
