30 Curly Hairstyles in 30 days – Day 8 – The Dutch Side Braid
I love braids and this style is one of my go-to faves. In curly hair, I like to take large braid sections so I don’t have to detangle my curls. I just pick up big sections of curls to add in. This has the bonus of making it quicker to do!
As for my fringe, I love to leave the front layers of my hair loose. You could easily pin them back for a neater look.

How are you able to pin the braid so neatly? I have similar curly hair to yours and I can never get braids to stay and not break free…I usually end up making lumpy buns at the end of the braid.
Hair Romance says
Hi Jackie, I’ve twisted the braid around and tucked it underneath the first part of the braid. You can also make a bun and the end but folding the braid around and tucking it under hides it away. It’s also more comfortable (to me). Hope this helps! My new ebook is out next week with all the tutorials and loads of curly hair tips and tricks xx

I love a good braid – I feel like it is my go to style at the moment. When I was at school my hair was dead straight, but after having children, I have found that it is super curly and never does what I want it to do!

Braids have saved me from so many bad hair days! It’s amazing how your hair can change throughout your life. My curls are so different now to when my hair first became curly. I swear mine have a mind of their own too x

I love your braids, I like how thick your hair is, it makes the center back braid really thick looking. My hair is so fine, I envy you with all that thick gorgeous hair. I am learning how to braid right now. Never been interested before..
Hair Romance says
Hi Michelle! Have you tried stretching out your braids? It makes such a difference to the finished look. I find even in fine hair you can get a thick looking braid. Let me know if there are any braid tutorials you’d like to see 🙂
