Happy Big Hair Friday!

I’m in Melbourne for the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) and looking at beauty trends for the coming season. VAMFF is a little different to other fashion weeks as it’s a consumer festival and you can shop everything straight from the runway. If you’re in Melbourne I’d love to meet you at my Business of Beauty talk on Monday.

These crazy shots are from the Camilla collection show this week. Camilla shows are known for her amazing hairstyles and this year the hair was even bigger.

Each model is wearing an incredible 150 full head hair extensions that weigh 15kg (33 pounds)!! Showpony Australia have supplied all the hair extensions for VAMFF and this show was epic. It took 4-5 stylists per model to attach all that hair.

Now let’s talk dreads.

Are they coming back as a fashion trend? Do you like them? Loathe them? Indifferent?

I’d love to know your thoughts.

I agree with Amelia, I like well kept dreads. I plan on getting them when my hair goes completely silver.

15kg, thats outrageous! how did those tiny models not fall over from that weight? I think some dreads look good if they are well kept, others I think are a little gross.
