Bobby pin tip

July 16, 2015 By Hair Romance 7 Comments

Hair Romance - Bobby pin tips

Don’t open your bobby pins.

The hook opening of the bobby pin is exactly the right size for the hair it can hold.

If you open the pin, you’ll take in too much hair and the pin can’t close. It will slowly push itself out of your hair. This is why your pins fall out during the day.

Instead, just push the pin into your hair. I like to weave it through so I catch some hair underneath as well at the hair I’m pinning in place.

This also makes your pins last longer as they won’t stretch out of shape.

Happy styling!

PS. This hairstyle is from my 30 Buns in 30 Days ebook.

What? First we learn we’ve been using them upside down, now this? I’ve so got to try this out. It makes me wonder why we do things a certain way though, you always see people doing things a certain way and just assume it’s correct I guess.

Thanks for the great advice on the helpful yet complicated bobby pin! Sometimes things are so simple they are hard!
