Hair is art

Shane Henning of Noddy’s on King for Goldwell – Saturday Night Gala Show

The Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Awards ceremony is still underway but Hair Expo is over for another year.

It’s the first time I’ve been to Hair Expo and it did not disappoint. It’s the largest hair event in the southern hemisphere and despite the awful rainy weather testing frizz levels, it was a fabulous event.

I am downloading the hundreds of photos I took and sorting through my interview and seminar notes to bring you lots of exciting hair trends and hairspiration. There were the most amazing styles at the gala shows – think of it as hair haute couture. I hope to bring you these styles with my interpretation of how you can take elements of these styles and make them wearable.

Original & Mineral with Cloud Nine The Wand

Hair Expo reminded me what a creative career hairdressing can be. Playing with colour, texture and shapes, I’ve seen hair as art this weekend.

I’ve been so impressed by the high standard and creativity of Australian hairdressing and can’t wait to share more with you.

If you know the O&M model please tell her to get in touch with me. I gave her my card but didn’t get her name. Also I didn’t get the name of Shane’s model but did share a cab with her and her friends. Would love to hear from you three gorgeous girls as well.

@Anonymous – yes I do have a shot of her but only on the catwalk. I will be posting about the Gala nights soon so will see if I can get some more media shots from the night. I adored Shane's show!

This might sound silly, but I was wondering if you had any shots of Little Red Riding Hood in Shane's show?
