The humble hair net is having a major revival. At the Paris fall couture shows, hair nets were spotted backstage and used in all different ways.
At Valentino
These sleek top knot chignons were smoothed over with a fine hair net.
At Jean Paul Gaultier
Hair nets are the new turbans.
At Chanel
In a 1940s revival, Sam McKnight used large decorative hair nets to encase the hair.
Nets were also featured as veils at Giambattista Valli, though the face mask veil is not such an easy trend to wear.
Is it time to bring back the hair net?

I don’t know about hair net hair nets, but snoods, like Chanel is doing it, can come back forever as far as I’m concerned! I love them, and already have several for reenactments–it would make me so happy if I could wear them for everyday. Plus, it’s so easy just to tuck your hair in and be done for the day. 🙂

I’m up for a hair net comeback if it means I can wear Jean Paul Gaultier’s pieces! I especially love the black fitted one.

I can’t tell if I love it or Lindsay just makes it look amazing. I think nets could be back in a big way.
