Step back in time into Miss Pixie’s beauty salon to learn another vintage hairstyle.
So far Miss Pixie has shown us a Victory rolls tutorial and a faux-fringe Betty Bangs hairstyle tutorial.
But what do you do with the rest of your hair?
Miss Pixie has the solution – the Fan Bun. I’ve saved the easiest tutorial ’til last and you’ll love how super quick and easy it is to finish any vintage updo. You could just even wear this style on its own.
Here are some more pictures of the Fan Bun and watch the video tutorial below to see how simple this style is to do.
Vintage fan bun hairstyle tutorial with the fabulous Miss Pixie
Thanks to the amazing Miss Pixie of Boogie Bop Dames for sharing some of her vintage styling secrets! And thanks to the lovely Miss Penelope Pineapples, Miss Pin Up Australia finalist for being our model.
Spending an afternoon with these two beauties was an absolute pleasure. They are such inspiring and positive role models. I left feeling empowered with my new beauty skills and glowing from the gorgeous energy boost you get from these women.
Vintage styles may feel a little like a costume if you’re not used to getting dressed up but I’m challenging you to try it and see how you feel. You can’t help but walk a little taller and smile when you’re dressed this way.
Take a few extra minutes to get ready and really enjoy the attention you’re giving yourself. So often we rush and give all our time to others and so we don’t spend any energy on ourselves.
I’d love you to try one of these styles this week and leave me a comment about how you felt wearing it.
