How to tie your hair in a bow like a Christmas present

December 8, 2011 By Hair Romance 18 Comments

Everyone went Gaga for the hair bow earlier this year, and I say bring it back for the holiday season.

Hair bows look so cute and fun, and with this hairstyle you’ll match the presents under your Christmas tree!

After I used this image (and unfortunately I cannot find the source, please let me know if you do) for my in-salon Christmas Gift Guide, I received a few requests for a how-to. I found these other kawaii versions on Made in Pretoria and A Beautiful Mess.

Then Molly tweeted me a link to this super sweet tutorial by Just Bebe xo. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Do you love bows? Will your hair be wrapped up like a Christmas present this party season?

I did this at 2am & it looked amazing. I opt for a bow instead of a bun now, great tutorial(:

Thanks Alyssa! The bow is 10 times cuter than a bun too x

You have to have great hair to pull it off and the above ladies have fab shiny long locks so it looks fantastic. At the moment ladies like the short hair look but these bows are definitely a lovely look for Winter or Autumn.

I will be trying this on my daughter’s hair soon! Thank you so much for your creative idea and the instructions.

P.S. I like it both ways but will probably do the one with the ribbon. 🙂

WOW. I am in love. I totally love this! It’s so adorable. I’ll have to do it to my sister since mine is too short to do it. I love the ribbon it makes it fancy but without the ribbon, the style is a lot more casual.
