My favourite foundation is NARS Sheer Glow. In a funny coincidence, it’s my only foundation as I only started wearing foundation last month!
The lovely Jen from My Funny Valentine took me swatching* and was so shocked when I confessed I didn’t own foundation that she took me straight to Mecca to try NARS Sheer Glow. It was almost life-changing and has made me love makeup again!
I don’t know about you, but I find foundation to be the most confusing product to buy. Mainly because I’m concerned that the wrong colour looks so obvious and fake. You can play around with lip and eye colours but the wrong base just looks awful. Maybe also because department store lighting is so terrible and I can never tell what looks right?
How do you choose the right foundation? What’s your favourite foundation?
*Swatching is a beauty blogging pastime where you check out new products, usually testing colours or ‘swatching’ them on your arm
hey I just posted on my range of foundations xo

i have to wear foundation because of my skin isn't the best, but why in the world would you start wearing it when it sounds like you don't have to? am so jealous of people who don't have to wear a lot of make-up!
mufe matte (velvet?) foundation. it's the best foundation so far (after laura mercier's stick foundation was discontinued). I am one of those girl that wishes she could just get away with tinted moisturizer but for some reason my skin won't let me.. 🙁
This is my favorite foundation as well! This one, and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua are the ones I like the most and heaven knows I've tried donzens of foundations!!
Unfortunately, (and Jen, who's a friend, would probably tell you the same), finding the Holy Grail foundation is a trial and erro process that can be long and expensive!
I'm the same, never quite know what I'm doing with foundation. And then there's the question of concealer…

I haven't tried Nars sheer glow yet but it is on my wishlist.
My favourite foundation is Estee Lauder Double wear foundaton – great coverage and stays on all day.
I use foundation sparingly and put it on pretty sheer, so as long as the color is a lighter shade of pale, it's going to be ok. I don't worry about it too much.
You have great skin so that's probably why you have never needed to use foundation, you lucky gal!!!
My favorite foundation is Stila's One step foundation. It's a mousse texture with a velvet finish. I lurve it!

interesting…i've never used a liquid foundation, but i love all NARS products, plus it's got the word "sheer" in it, which sounds promising…
I didn't own foundation until a few years ago, because I didn't know the difference between it and pressed powder! The beauty counters and aisles were a bit overwhelming & they all looked the same to me, lol 🙂
I use Avon's Smooth Minerals foundation currently. It's great, not too shimmery, and it feels like I don't have anything on my face.
@Julie – what a great idea! Will have to try that
@Haute_Style – I know – tha shame! Ok will definitely try the Chanel xxx
OMG you didn't own foundation!?
You HAAAAAAAVE to try Chanel Vita Aqua Lumiere- you'd LOVE it! Promise! xoxox
NARS Sheer Glow is my favorite foundation as well! I mix it with Clinique's moisturizing gel and it makes a lovely tinted moisturizer 🙂
