UPDATE: There’s a new ebook coming too! More info below and you can pre-order here..
I’ve been hinting at a new project for way too long so I’m excited to announce that my next hair series – 30 Curly Hairstyles in 30 days – starts THIS WEEK!
Yes, it needs capital letters and an exclamation point as I’m thrilled to be starting this long-awaited series. It’s finally here!
Ever since I created the original 30 Hairstyles in 30 Days, I’ve been asked to do the same for curly hair. I’ll be sharing a new hairstyle in curly hair over the next 30 days here on the blog.
Tomorrow I’ll have a curly hair styling tutorial and then from Wednesday I’ll be posting a new hairstyle every day. If you don’t want to miss a post, subscribe here and I’ll send you updates.
I often straighten my hair to shoot my tutorials but that doesn’t mean my hairstyles can only be done in straight hair. From a practical point of view, it’s just easier for me to shoot tutorials in straight hair. It’s very different to photograph a tutorial than just to wear it as I often style it a couple of times to get the step-by-step just right. In straight hair, the steps are easier to see and my hair doesn’t keep frizzing as I style and re-style it.
But I’ve been practising and this month is all about the curls!
My hair is naturally curly and I’ll be sharing curl styling tips and hairstyle inspiration all throughout the month.
Update: New 30 Curly Hairstyles in 30 Days ebook
This ebook has been requested for years and I’m now sharing all of my curly tips and tricks that I haven’t shared anywhere else. You’ll be the master of your frizz with this styling guide.
Click here to pre-order your copy now.
By pre-ordering now, you’ll be the first to get a copy before it is launched on April 28. Plus you’ll secure the very limited pre-launch price, saving you 33%!
So I’d love to hear from you. Do you have curly hair? What are your biggest issues?
PS. Don’t forget you can subscribe here and I’ll send you updates on my curly hair posts.
Hi Christina, I’m so excited about the styles for curls!
My hair is curly and fine, so my biggest challenge is to maintain it frizz free. But the problem is that when I use some frizz control products my hair gets stuck to my scalp. Do you have suggestions to take care of this? Thank you!
Hi Christina! I’m very happy with your new project!
I’m from Brazil, and I have curly and dark hair.
Always than I make a hairstyle, I see than it doesn’t have a defined form… It is difficult to mold curly hair in a hairstyle.
Thaks!!
Your hair looks so perfect! I can’t wait for this tutorials!
My major struggle is that I have some baby hairs on the sides that are growing and pop out when I tie me hair up or in a braid. It is a little annoying because they’re no longer small but not long enough to be tied along with the rest of the hair. They’re so thin that even bobby pins stand out!
Anyway, good work with the blog, can’t wait to see more 🙂
I have thick and coarse curly hair. My problem is that I have to keep my hair tied at work. I always just wear my hair in a ponytail and I’m so bored with it.
Hi Becky, I hope I’ll have lots of ideas for you! Some twists on a basic ponytail and lots of quick updos as well xx
It’s the first time I write something here but I really like your tutorials. It’s so nice to find such a range of styles for’curly hair and braids. I love braids, so convenient.
My biggest challenge is to style them, or do a nice updo without bobby pins, just with littles hairbands. I have a lot of volume and I just hate when bobby pins finished in the tangles or hurting!
Thanks so much, Jen! I don’t know why a single hair hurts so much when a bobby pin gets tangled up but it really does! I have a few easy braids and ponytails planned that I think you’ll love xx
Oh great! Thanks 🙂
Oh great! Thanks a lot!
I have major trouble with keeping my curls from turning into a frizzy mess as they dry. I’m not a fan of using products as its always seem like my curls turn into concrete instead of looking naturally soft and bouncy.
It’s a constant battle, right Melissa? I have a new routine now where I use gel and I love it. I know, it sounds weird but it works. It dries crispy but then you scrunch out the gel cast and are left with frizz free soft curls. I’ll share more in tomorrow’s post x
The hardest part for me. Is the right products the drying and the cutting into some style
I’m always testing new products, Noelene, and the more I test, the more I realise that the techniques are more important than the product. I mean, the difference between curl creams isn’t that great, but the greatest change comes from applying the cream to really wet hair and using a t-shirt to dry my curls. I’ll try and shoot a video about my whole routine to explain more xx
Can you please do this series for fine/thin hair as well? It is really hard to figure out hairstyles for fine/thin hair. Thank you!
Hi Bianca, good idea! I’ll be doing the styles in my hair but I’ll share tips and variations for different hair types x
Yay! Can’t wait!
Yay! Thanks KT xx
Ahh!!! How exciting! I don’t have curly hair myself, but I have a good friend who does, and I’m totally sharing!
Thanks so much, Aria! xx
I’d like to see some hairstyles for long, fine, curly hair. There’s only one article on your site covering fine curls (short, not long) but no hairstyle tutorials or anything alike. I really want to find some inspiration for long fine curls.
Hi Lialotta! Yes that’s a great idea. I do the tutorials in my hair, but I’ll share tips for variations you can do in your hair xx
