Do you make New Year’s resolutions?
I love this time of year to reflect back on the previous year. I also take stock and start to de-clutter so I can start the year fresh.
I love setting intentions and goals but for some reason most New Year’s resolutions don’t sit well with me. I argued my case over on Mr & Mrs Romance and I named my resolution for 2014:
Wear more hats.
Yes, it’s simple and very achievable. It’s also a lot of fun!
I was chatting with a girlfriend who said ‘hats just don’t suit me’ and I had to disagree.
I believe that looking good in a hat is all about confidence.
Hats can make a statement, so you need to go with it, and don’t shy away.
What you also must realise is that hats are your saviour for bad hair days. They look instantly chic and are perfect at covering regrowth before your next salon appointment.
Wear more hats in summer
At the moment it’s summer here in Australia so I’ve picked some of my favourite hats for the beach season.

Wear more hats in winter
If you’re in the northern hemisphere, hats are a must in winter and there are so many cute and cozy hats to keep you warm.

I love wearing hats and think they suit me but am not always confident in wearing them. I saw a girl wearing one out for dinner recently at a casual bar and thought she looked amazing but haven’t had the nerve to do it in a non outdoor setting myself.

I know what you mean Cassandra, I prefer smaller hats like turbans and berets for wearing inside as I feel more comfortable leaving them on. A wide brim hat is a tricky one indoors x

Great post! I love the hats your selected! I’ve been wearing hats for the past two summers after I found out I have rosacea. My husband teases me about it a little bit because it is definitely not a trend, but I think it should be! We need to protect our skin (and hair) from permanent sun damage. Hopefully more women embrace hats!

Thanks Amy! Sun protection is definitely cool in my books. I wear sunscreen every day and now I’ll be wearing more hats too x
