I’m not sure but my guess would be yes, you can’t get such strong colour over brunette without lightening the hair first

I wish I could do this! Sadly, pink ombre would clash majorly with my ginger hair, but I can admire it from afar!
You could try a chalk or colorbug to do a temporary colour? But you already have gorgeous hair that doesn’t need to change
