I’m constantly impressed with the standard of Australian hairdressing. I really believe that Australian hairdressers receive superior training as there is such a rigid apprenticeship and training programme that lasts three years (only recently reduced from four years).
Wild Life Hair recently opened up their amazing Milson’s Point salon for an education event. Led by three time Australian Hairdresser of the Year Jayne Wild, the salon team generously shared their knowledge in a technique and trend demonstration.
Dieter Mersmann, three times winner of Australian Colour Technician of the Year and Goldwell ambassador, says antique colours are the latest trend. Rather than colour going all the way to the roots, it’s applied underneath or balayaged to create a grown out, antiqued feel.
I had to share these short hairstyles today for some new hair colour inspiration.
Gorgeous curly short hair cut and amazing pink / purple brunette colour inspiration.

Love the slices of red poking through the rose gold hair.
If you have short hair why not play around with your colour? It’s so much more versatile than long hair. There’s less risk as your hair is short so have fun with your hair!
