Could Liz’s unicorn hair be more amazing?
Who says you’re limited with hairstyle in short hair? Find out how to get the look below.
Remember Liz’s unicorn hair?
After playing around with double Dutch braids in her short hair but this faux-hawk braid is my fave.
How to get the look
- Part a section at the top of your head for your French braid. The secret to getting the massive volume in your braid is to backcomb your hair at the roots before you braid. I used Schwarzkopf Volume powder to really amp up the volume.
- Then do a French braid back to your crown, making sure it’s not too tight. Then sprinkle a little more powder on your braid and stretch it out to really emphasise the shape.
- On either side of your French braid, do a very small Dutch braid. In contrast, this braid is tight and precise and helps to make your French braid stand out even more.
- Finish with a spritz of hairspray to make this style stay all day.
This braid looks amazing in long or short hair, and you can make it as big as you like!
