Curly hair guide – Infographic growth chart

November 21, 2012 By Hair Romance 7 Comments

How amazing is this curly hair growth guide from Naturally Curly?

I love their hair advice, especially these hair growth tips.

5 tips for faster, healthier hair growth

  1. Condition & detangle: Comb and detangle regularly with fingers or a wide-tooth comb to strengthen the muscles that hold each hair in place. Deep condition every 2-3 days to replenish moisture.
  2. Massage your scalp: Products containing peppermint or eucalyptus oil can increase blood flow to your follicles. Massage your scalp for 3 minutes before washing to add an extra inch of hair growth in one year.
  3. Feed your hair: Fruits and vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, collard greens, honeydew and mango contain nutrients essential to healthy hair. Take supplements that contain folic acid and vitamins A,B,C,E and D.
  4. Trim only when needed: Get trims only when you have split ends or breakage. If you don’t see any damage six weeks or six months after your last trim, then leave it alone.
  5. Handle with care: Avoid blowdrying, hot curling irons, colouring, perming, high winds and excessive hair twisting. Protect those locks by sealing your ends with oil and sleeping on a satin pillowcase.

    Hi!
first thing first, love your hairstyle! 🙂
I wondered if you have ever tried some Lush products for hair care, like shampoo or mask or even hennè, and what’s your opinion about since they sells to you as natural as possible.
    (I’m Italian,sorry for eventual mistakes)

I would love to see tips for thickening your hair. I can grow my hair pretty well, but because it is so so fine I am finding that a) it looks whispy and yuck, and b) the few strands I do have are copping all the damage.
I try to remain very aware of any damage causing habits (heating my hair, over washing, to comb vs. brush, keep the ends moisturised using an oil as needed, regular trims) but in all honesty I just need it to be thicker so that the little damage I do have doesn’t matter so much.

You can try massaging your scalp with coconut oil and leaving it on for about 30-40 minutes before you wash your hair. Follow this routine 3-4 times a week. You can also try mixing curd and rice powder(if available) or honey and use it as a hair mask; leave it on for 20 minutes and wash thoroughly. Also, don’t wash ur hair everyday, as it promotes hair breakage. I’m no hair expert, (my granny gave me these tips) but I hope this helps! 🙂

Thanks Aishwarya! I haven’t tried honey before, it is hard to wash out of your hair?

No it isn’t! It comes off well with shampoo…but you can try rinsing your hair with rose water to be more thorough..
