Game of Thrones Hairstyles – Khaleesi Daenarys Targaryen hairstyle tutorial

Daenarys Targaryen is my favourite character in Game of Thrones, except for Tyrion Lannister – but he doesn’t really wear braids!

The hairstyle I’ver chosen for this tutorial is pretty much the easiest hairstyle from the Game of Thrones series. It’s definitely the easiest Khaleesi hairstyle of the show so far.

Now to copy Khaleesi‘s hairstyles, you must know that she wears a wig. Almost all the actors on Games of Thrones wear wigs and hairpieces, well especially the women. In particular, Daenarys Targaryen’s hair takes hours to style on set each day.

For continuity, the wigs have to be meticulously styled to maintain accuracy. Being a hairdresser on set is very complex and detailed job.

In real life, we don’t have to worry. The only thing we need to find are small silver clips so that we can copy this style exactly.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any metal clips so small clear hair elastics will do for simplicity’s sake.

There’s no braiding at all in this hairstyle and anyone can do it!

Game of Thrones Hairstyles – Khaleesi Daenarys Targaryen hairstyle tutorial

Step-by-step

All you need for this hairstyle are 3 small clear hair elastics.

1. Start by taking a very small piece of hair at your temple on each side and secure them at the back of your head with a small clear hair elastic.
2. Repeat with a small piece of hair above your ear. Bring these sections to the back of your head and combine them with the hanging top section of hair.
3. Repeat with a third section of hair below your ears. Join them with the hanging section above and secure them with a small clear hair elastic.

That’s it! This really is the easiest Game of Thrones hairstyle and anyone can do it.

This hairstyle works in straight, wavy or curly hair. You can create waves in straight hair with a curling iron and then brush them out to soft waves.
