Remember that time I hosted my own Braid Bar?

Last year I teamed up with Blog Society to present my first ever braid workshop. I was pretty nervous but was so glad to have Jaclyn of Blog Society by my side so I knew the event would go off without a hitch.

The only thing I had to worry about was teaching the class.

I chose a few styles from my 30 Braids in 30 Days ebook that I thought would work well together, and would suit absolute beginners. I wasn’t sure what skill level everyone would be at and in the end we had a mix of novices to stylists.

We started with crown braids and moved on to fishtail braids, rope braids and even waterfall braids.

I was so impressed by the gorgeous braids everyone created. I had such a talented class and loved every minute of it.

Special thanks to Jaclyn for making this event happen. The Braid Bar had been an idea in my head for so long and she made it a reality. Thanks to Prema Hair in Surry Hills for providing such a cool location. We couldn’t braid without pins and hair bands and Lady Jayne provided fabulous accessories for my class to take home. To take care of everyone’s hair, the wonderful team at Schwarzkopf provided lots of fab products for the goodie bags for my class to take home. Thanks also to Jacobs Creeks Wines and Mt Franklin water for keeping us refreshed during the event.

Unfortunately I don’t have a video of the event or more images to share due to a failed hard drive. I was waiting to see if anything could be recovered and that’s why this post has been so long in coming.

But now that so much time has passed, it has made me realise that I need to hold another class! Would anyone be interested in attending a braiding workshop with me?

Obviously Sydney is easy but I’d consider travelling to do more classes. Let me know where you live and I’ll work out if it fits with my travel plans for this year.

What braids would you like to learn at my next Braid Bar?

Thanks to Jaclyn of Blog Society & Prema Hair for the photos

Canberra please! I’d love to braid my hair, only thing I can do at the moment is a plain 3 strand plait, if you’re ever after someone as a model for long hair (mines hip length and fine) I’m up for it 🙂

I would love to come to a Sydney workshop and appreciate any hair style that gives me a professional look for work (that you can do quickly on curly hair) I find I usually have one day during the week that I look a bit dishevelled!

That looks like a lot of fun! Having someone watch me doing a braid would be great feedback too.
