Hair star: Enzo Angileri

February 8, 2012 By Hair Romance 4 Comments

Enzo Angileri‘s client list reads like a who’s who of Hollywood. You may not know his name but you’ll recognise his work.

This award-winning hairdresser started out studying the hairstyles of his favourite Italian movie stars in Sicily and Milan and trying them out in his sister’s hair. Now he sets the trends with his editorial hair creations and red carpet styles.

His successful hair career spans advertising, editorial, television, film and music videos. There’s hardly a mane he hasn’t tamed in Hollywood. Enzo is now  International Stylist for Moroccanoil and is the creative force behind Charlize Theron’s latest red carpet hair moments.

Enzo is in extremely high demand, especially in the middle of award season, but Hair Romance caught up with Enzo to ask the really important questions.

Straight hair or curls?

Both!

Hairspray or mousse?

Mousse, it gives you more options.

Keratin straightening or natural texture?

Both, my philosophy is for women to embrace their own assets and make the most of them, but straightening can have nice results as well.

Oscars or Golden Globes?

I love both!

Red carpet events: upstyles or hair out?

Both styles are beautiful for red carpet events!

Best red carpet hair moment?

The year Charlize won the Oscar, I created a 1930’s wave for her, very Jean Harlow.

Favourite star to style?

Too many favorites to list!

Whose hair would you love to style?

Elizabeth Taylor

‘Signature’ hairstyles or keep changing your hairstyle?

Signature hairstyles!

Charlize Theron – better as a blonde or brunette?

Blonde!

Is red the new blonde?

No.

Yes or no: Dip dye hair?

Yuck – NO!

Yes or no: Ombre hair?

No

So there you go, maybe ombre hair will finally be out?

After Enzo’s triumph with the headband at the Golden Globes, I can’t wait to see what he creates for Charlize for the Oscars, and I wonder who else he’ll be styling there too…

Grazie mille for your time Enzo!
