Learn how to have a beautiful blog with my Beauty Blog School series.
I am on such a high after my Little Blog Big blogging workshop. I am also so glad we ordered these balloons too, how fun are they?!
After a conference or workshop you can leave buzzing with inspiration and ideas. It’s easy for that high to drop quickly and turn into post-conference blues.
Here’s my plan that I use to make sure that I turn that inspiration into action.
How to turn inspiration into action
Go through your notes as soon as possible
Even if you have gorgeous handwriting, it’s still hard to make sense of notes once time has passed. Go through your notes the next day while it’s still fresh in your mind.
Add to your notes
Elaborate on any points and add in more ideas. You might have a brilliant new idea as you’re re-reading your notes.
Make a Can Do list
Change your thinking, change your actions. I mentioned this in my workshop, but since I’ve switched my “to-do list” to a “can-do” list I feel so much better about it. I feel less overwhelmed and more positive about what’s ahead. Start writing a can-do list of tasks and ideas.
Prioritise your list
Your list will always be longer than the time you have. Go through the list and highlight any tasks that can have an immediate impact on your readers or your income.
The Three Task rule
Although my Can Do list is pages long, I follow the Three Task rule every day. I choose three items from my list and place them at the top as my priorities for that day. I know I can almost always do three things and it helps to keep me focused. You’ll also get a great sense of achievement from crossing off your three tasks without comparing them to the whole list. If you’re having a super productive day, tackle another task. Anything above the three tasks is a bonus.
Grow your network
Reach out to anyone you met at the event. Follow them on social media or shoot them an email to say how much you enjoyed meeting them. Your network is one of the most important inspirations you have. The right group around you helps to turn inspiration into action.
Plan your time
It’s so easy to get caught up in your everyday tasks. Set aside time each week to work on the bigger ideas. You can start with as little as 15 minutes a day or an hour a week to turn these important inspirations into action.
Don’t let those big dreams escape you. Keep working away a little each week and you’ll be surprised at how far you’ll go.

Some great tips here Christina! I left ‘Little Blog Big’ with an overload of great information and yes, I definitely need to get into my notes to action!
Thanks for a fun event, I absorbed a lot!
Thanks so much Anastasia! And Carly & I are always here if you have any questions too 🙂
I love these tips! I will definitely be taking on the three tasks a day tip, I’m a sucker for over-committing myself with millions of things on my to do list every day and constant disappointment and frustration when I can’t cross everything off! Thanks for sharing x
Thanks Michelle, I hope it helps you too. The 3 things always feels like I can put a bug tick against every day 🙂
This is such good advice! I totally agree that you should read your notes back ASAP, edit and add to them. Love the “Can Do” list and choosing 3 tasks per day. Brilliant! x
Thanks lovely! I love a list but it can be so overwhelming. The 3 tasks keeps me focused and positive xx
Awesome tips Christina. There’s no post conference blues happening here as yet, I’m still buzzing from an incredible day! 🙂
But your can-do list tip is going to be life changing for sure. Thanks again to you and Carly for an uber inspiring day! Xx
Thank you for your beautiful post today Shannon & for being part of LBB! xx
Totally agree Christina, it is so easy to come home from a workshop feeling on a ‘high’, then put all the notes aside without implementing anything. You’ll be please to know that this hasn’t happened this time. I’ve already sorted my 10 pages of notes and spent most of yesterday implemented lots of your (and Carly’s) suggestions.
10 pages! Oh wow, this makes me so happy Belinda! Good luck and so impressed at your motivation 🙂 xx
