They say blondes have more fun, but I want to change that to curly girls.
I always talk about having fun with your hair, but what does that mean?
It’s about embracing your hair, and trying something new. Like fashion, hair doesn’t need to be taken seriously. I still like to straighten my hair, but it feels so different to wear it curly.
It has taken me a long time to say I love my curls, and I’m proud to wear them big and messy.
Paul Mitchell feel the same way about curls. Whatever shape your curls take – wavy, kinky, ringlet, coily – embrace your texture and wear it your way.
Let your curls go and I’d love to see a picture of how you like to wear your hair. I’m sharing my pictures on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #CurlConfession. You can also share your photos on Facebook.
If sharing the hair love with other curly girls wasn’t enough motivation, by posting your #Curl Confession photos you could see your photo screened in New York and LA on 15 November! Paul Mitchell are taking over the cities with curl power. Find out where to see the projections on the Paul Mitchell Facebook Page and submit your #CurlConfession to win fab prizes from their new Curls product line.
Now let your curls go and have fun with your hair!
This post was brought to you by the curly hair loving Paul Mitchell.

I hace naturally wave/curly hair that has recently lost its form! My hair will no longer curl! 🙁 I don’t know what to do to help bring it back. I miss my curls! I used to be able to shower, add product or sometime not add anything, and wake up will curls! Now my hair has been straight wil really loose waves when before I could scrunch it and it would be beautiful. Any ideas?

Hi Adela, there are lots of reasons that your hair can change. Your health, hormones, damage from colouring and styling and also with age. After a lots of flat ironing I wrecked my curls. It took a lot of haircuts and treatments to get it back to the way it was. Sometimes a haircut can bring it back to life too, a few layers can really encourage the curl. Good luck!

I have been reading your blog for about a year now. I was drawn in with your twist in pin 30 day challenge hoping to find some inspiration to change up my daily style. I love the way you aren’t afraid to experiment with different styles. I too have curly hair much like yours. I wear my hair naturally curly most every day and would really love to see you truly embrace your curls and let them go by showing us curly girls different styles that can be achieved with our hair in it’s natural state. Every one of your hairstyles in your twist and pin and braids challenge was done with your hair straightened. It is hard for me to envision the same results using my hair in it’s natural state. I beg you to really embrace your curls and help the rest of us out by demonstrating these styles with your hair still curly. As I am sure you are aware, 2nd day hair for us is trying at best, so your styles would help ease the pain of 2nd, 3rd and even 4th day hair, but please give us some pointers!!!
Thanks!!
Laura

Thanks Laura, I hear you and I would love to do some more curly hairstyles. I usually wear my curly hair out, and I straighten my hair for these hairstyle challenges as it’s easier to replicate and shoot the how-tos. It will be a great summer challenge for me x

I naturally have loose curly hair and whenever I diffuse it I fondly refer to my hair as “hobo hair.” I recently visited my grandma and she bothered me all weekend about how my hair looked so horrible and how I needed to “brush out that’s rat’s nest”. I suddenly found myself wondering if my “hobo hair” really made me look like a hobo! My fiancé lovingly reassured me that I looked amazing and not to let it bother me. Afterall, I receive compliments on my hair from girls all of the time! We decided it was a generational thing. I’m glad that we live in a time when it’s totally acceptable to wear your hair in it’s natural state and that we should embrace it! I still love my hobo hair and am proud to call it that.

Haha I lvoe the term “hobo hair”. My aunt used to say I “looked like I walked out of a bush backwards” but I love messy hair x

WOW!!! Christina, I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!
I am so blessed to have been fortunate enough to be in a marriage where my husband loves me just the way I am… Curls, wild curls, very pale skin, natural hair colour, no make up etc…
However, I am battling to love my curls… I leave our safe haven of a home most mornings in tears…. Most might not see it, but I really do cry on the inside…..And I feel so saddened by my thoughts because the love of my love only sees the best when he looks at me! He has now offered to treat me for a brazilian blow out…. And I am very excited!!!
But when I see your blog, I look forward to the day when I will love every wild ringlet, evry fly away frizz on my head! Don’t stop your blog! Keep on!!! It’s soo amazing!!!

Thanks so much Christina! Sounds like you’ve got a great guy and hope you can love your hair as much as he does x

I have a lovely natural wave/loose curl to my hair, but I rarely wear it anymore because my hair is BABY fine and I can’t figure out how to get volume out of it! So frustrating. So when I want to go curly, I do it using a curling wand, and curse my fine hair for being so uncooperative. 🙁
Hair Romance says
Ah fine hair can be hard, have you tried styling powders? They are the best f=product for fine hair – instant volume with a sprinkle of powder. Might be worth trying. I wrote more about styling powders here.

I am SO JELLY of your beautiful curls.. I think lots of women who don’t have curly hair wish that they did (I do!) 🙂

I always thought your hair was curly! You have a lovely wave, do you style that everyday? You make it look natural x
