Hair Romance loves turbans. I’m always trying out new ways to wear them. Here are three easy ways to turn your everyday scarf into an urban turban.
The full turban
For those days when you need to hide all your hair away, bring out the full turban.
- Twist and pin your hair up into a low bun.
- Grab a large square scarf and fold it diagonally to form a triangle. Place the centre of the long side under your bun.
- Bring the ends around to the front and twist them twice.
- Take the ends back around and tie them at the back under your bun.
- Pull the point of the scarf at the front down and adjust to suit your head shape. Then bring the point up and tuck it under the twist.
The urban turban
My personal favourite, and so easy to wear. A bright scarf twisted into this easy urban turban is the cherry on top of any outfit.

Aye aye captain
There’s something a bit pirate about this look, but it’s a chic way to protect your hair from sun damage, or hide your regrowth 😉
- Take your square scarf, folded diagonally into a triangle, and place the centre of the long side on your forehead.
- Take the end of the scarf around the back and tie into a knot.
- Tie it again into a double knot to secure it and you’re ready to set sail!
