Hello from the USA!
It’s been a crazy few weeks at Hair Romance. I was expecting to be working and making some new tutorials when an incredible opportunity came up from Schwarzkopf Australia to attend the BlogHer Conference in Chicago.
Of course I said yes straight away and jumped on a plane! The last few weeks have been a blur.
I adored Chicago and had so much fun at BlogHer. I loved meeting lots of blogger friends from Twitter in real life, as well as lots of new bloggers.
I’m currently in NYC and loving it. I’ve rented an apartment through AirBnB in the West Village and I’m pretending it’s my house.
You can find out more about my travels on Mr & Mrs Romance, and there will be more travel posts going up over the next few weeks once we’re back.
I’ll also have some exciting news about a meeting I had in San Francisco. The picture above is a hint 😉
As you can see, I love letting my hair go wild on holidays. Lots of big curls, and a faux bob hairstyle when it gets really hot.
Think I’ll treat myself to a salon blowdry in NYC, and can’t wait to finally do some shopping. Can you believe I haven’t been to Sephora yet?! Crazy!
What do you think are the best US beauty products I should buy while I’m here?
So exciting Christina, it looks like you are having the time of your life (and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a wee bit jealous!) Congratulations on all your success!
PS: How can you not of been to Sephora yet? In true makeup-blogger form I’m going to say you have to get the Urban Decay Naked Palette (or the Lorac Pro Palette!)
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
xx
I wish I had’ve known you’d be in Chicago! I’ve lived here for 4 years & love it. I personally think the “hair culture” here aren’t as exciting & interesting as my hometown of Detroit & sadly I have yet to find a permanent hair stylist here. That’s partially because I’m pretty good at styling my own hair plus my uncle is a hair stylist in Detroit so when I make it home I always pay him a visit.
Anywho- while you’re in the states I would say some good products to try are Aveda Control Paste or pretty much any Shea Moisture brand product. My favorites are the organic African Black Soap Deep Cleansing Shampoo, the Curl & Style Milk, & the Curl Enhancing Smoothie.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your time here!
