You asked…so I’m bringing back Hair Romance TV!
My YouTube channel, Hair Romance, has been neglected lately. I keep saying I will make more videos but it always slips off my to-do list.
There are quite a few reasons why I keep procrastinating over YouTube.
Firstly, I’m terrified of making videos! Watching yourself back is so awkward! In the past I’ve attempted to make videos but after a million attempts I just end up deleting them.
Then there’s my lack of technical ability with shooting videos. I’m so comfortable shooting stills but video is totally different. My DSLR is not made for videos but I now have an Olympus camera which can shoot HD video.
And don’t get me started on the editing. I find it totally confusing and really hard to do.
I’m determined to get over these fears so I’m starting simply with a Q&A video. It’s not edited well and there are no flashy graphics but it’s a start.
For future videos I will get Jim to help. He loves editing videos and will keep me accountable to create more posts for Hair Romance TV.
Hair Romance TV – Hair Q&A
In this video I’m answering your questions from Instagram:
- Have you always been good at hair or did you have to teach yourself? What made you decide to start hair blogging?
- Do you brush your hair while it’s wet in the shower or once you get out?
- What advice would you give to young braiders?
- What are your favourite products?
- If you could only do one hairstyle for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- What kind of brush is the best to use when you have wet hair? Wide tooth comb or wet hair brush?
- What is the best braid or hair style for a toddler with thin hair?
I hope you like this video and please let me know in the comments below what videos you’d like me to make.
PS. You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel here if you want to see my next video.

This is a really helpful Q&A, thank you! It sounds like I’m not doing anything wrong with my curls but just need to practice a bit more.. Looking forward to seeing new videos of you! (PS looooovely makeup too!)

Thanks so much Adeline 🙂 I’ve filmed some more videos this weekend already! xx

I love your blog! I used to hate my hair, but I’m starting to love my curls because I’m learning how to take better care of them. Right now, my hair is in that awkward stage where there are corkscrew curls on the bottom where the nape of my neck is, and loose, often times frizzy waves on top. I used to have glossy, wavy hair too, so this is a big change. Any advice on how to deal with my hair in this stage?
Hair Romance says
Hi Kelsey, thank you so much! That makes my day to hear that 🙂 Now as to mixed curls, I still have to deal with that now. My curls underneath are tighter corkscrews than the top of my hair like yours. I found that I have to use a water spray to dampen the top layer of my hair before applying curl cream. The top dried too quickly and is faster to frizz and won’t curl as well. If I wet it again, I have more chance to encourage the curl. Check out my frizz free curls tutorial for more details xx

Loved it! 🙂
Schwarzkopf volume powder is also a favourite of mine, along with dry shampoo, which I couldn’t live without as my (fine) hair can start to look greasy just one day after washing.
For someone who is guilty of wearing their hair the same way every day (I struggle for hair inspiration in the mornings, and don’t want to take too much time to do my hair), what tips would you have to help me mix it up more? Are their any beginner styles you’d recommend trying?
Hair Romance says
Thanks so much Renee! You’ve given me a great idea for a post – a week of easy hairstyles. Just off the top of my head, some of the simple half-up styles like these are great –
